Banks Power Ram-Air Intake System

Banks Power makes ram air intakes that they run comprehensive tests on before they release them for distribution and sale.  In these tests the systems must prove themselves repeatedly.

The ram air intakes get their start as a prototype that is created using CAD software.  This software prototype is run through a variety of flow simulations that it must pass before it can be turned into a physical prototype.  The physical prototype is put to tests on a flow bench.  It must pass those tests before it can be tested on an actual vehicle.  If and when all of those various types of tests have been passed, the system will then be tested against competitor and stock intakes.

Proven Performance and Design

The design of these intakes is one that includes an air housing that is enclosed, a dome shaped filter that will last you a lifetime, a massive inlet, and the entire thing is streamlined.  These qualities allows for the maximization of denser, cooler air that is gotten to the engine.  A Banks Power Ram Air Intake has a flow that has been proven to be 35% better and more efficient than the flow of stock intakes which effectively delivers denser air to the turbo inlet.

An Aftermarket Exclusive

The only place you will find the ram air intake systems made by Banks Power is on the aftermarket.  These systems feature a bellows that is a full 5 inches and the system is able to accommodate for engine movement.  This accommodation means that each one of the components is better protected resulting in a longer life.  Additionally, the Banks ram air intake systems are designed specifically so that they will never be the cause of any fault or error codes.

Filters?

With Banks Power you have a choice of filters.  There are the traditional red filters that are oiled and then there are the black filters which are dry.  Additionally, for those who want even more filtration power for even cooler, denser air there are pre-filters available.

Award Winning Testing

Yes, we did touch on this subject a bit earlier, but this bears mentioning.  The United States Patent and Trademark Office awarded Banks Power a patent for their Engine Performance Evaluation.  This was due to their uncompromising high standards that they have in place for these tests.

Why is Cooler Air Important?

Air is necessary in the combustion chamber of your engine to ignite the fuel and make the engine work.  The cooler the air is, the denser the molecules are in it.  The denser the molecules are, the more efficient combustion and subsequent burn of the fuel is.  This not only increases horsepower and torque but you can also see a difference in your fuel consumption.
